Free Crochet Pattern: Cloche Hat with Flower

Crochet Cloche Hat | Jennifer

This is a green crochet cloche hat with white trim and a white flower with a bit of pink inside. This pattern is for a teen/adult sized hat, but you can reduce each hat row by a percentage to make toddler and children’s hats (depending on the size you want).

Materials

  • 1 skein Vanna’s Choice Lion Brand in Fern
  • 1 skein Loops & Threads Impeccable™ in White
  • 1 strand Loops & Threads Impeccable™ in Arbor Rose
  • F/5 (3.75 mm) hook

These are the colors that I used in the picture, but feel free to use other colors as well – I do! Impeccable ™ and Vanna’s Choice brands work best for me when making these hats and if you can’t find one brand, you can substitute it for the other.

Flower

Make flower using white yarn.

Ch 4, sl st to join to first ch to form loop.

Row 1: Ch 3, dc 6 in loop, sl st to join. (7)

Row 2: Turn, * 4 dc and sl st in same st, rep from * to the end. (7 petals)

This time don’t turn. Continue by crocheting the following into the stitches just below the petals of the row you just did, so that these petals overlap them.

Row 3: * 4 dc and sl st in same st, rep from * to the end, sl st to join. (7 petals)

Fasten off.

Now take your strand of pink colored yarn (Arbor Rose), and sew the flower onto the hat by sewing from the center to the beginning of each petal (see picture if needed); this adds a nice, subtle, pink touch.

Fasten off, tuck in all loose ends, and you’re finished!
