Today, I’m excited to share my favorite twist on this classic comfort food – a deliciously moist and flavorful turkey meatloaf that’s sure to become a family favorite.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground turkey
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

For the Glaze

  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and milk. Let sit for 5 minutes to allow the breadcrumbs to absorb the milk.
  3. Add the ground turkey, eggs, onion, garlic, parsley, thyme, oregano, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce to the bowl. Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make your meatloaf tough!
  4. Transfer the mixture to the prepared loaf pan, shaping it into an even loaf.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the ketchup, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar to make the glaze.
  6. Spread half of the glaze over the top of the meatloaf.
  7. Bake for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  8. Remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  9. Serve with the remaining glaze on the side.

Tips and Variations

  • Herb it up: Feel free to experiment with different herbs. Rosemary or sage can add a delightful flavor profile.
  • Veggie boost: Sneak in some grated zucchini or carrots for added nutrition and moisture.
  • Glaze alternatives: Try a maple syrup glaze for a sweet twist, or a spicy BBQ sauce for a kick.
  • Make ahead: Prepare the meatloaf mixture a day in advance and refrigerate. Just remember to bring it to room temperature before baking.

This oven-baked turkey meatloaf is the perfect blend of lean protein and comforting flavors. The herbs add a fresh touch, while the glaze brings a tantalizing sweetness that’ll have everyone asking for seconds.

So, why not gather your loved ones and create some new mealtime memories with this delicious homestyle turkey meatloaf? Trust me, the aroma alone will have your family rushing to the dinner table!
