Documentary filmmaker, diver, and marine biologist Hans Hass was born on this day January 23, 1919 in Vienna, Austria. Hass had a passion for sharks, as well as other sea life like coral reefs, stingrays, and octopuses, and shared the ocean’s beauty via photography and film with captivated audiences.
